OV Code Signing

As we've already discussed, code signing allows you to sign piece of software. This allows the browsers and your potential customers to see who made the software and to know that its code hasn't been tampered with. It also disables the warnings, alerts and pop-ups that most browsers give when a user attempts to download something from an untrusted source.

Essentially, code signing proves you're trustworthy.

Organization Validation

This section will deal with organization validation – one type of code signing certificate – that requires your organization to prove it is a legitimate legal entity operating in good faith in its registered location.

This sort of validation has four main requirements before the code signing certificate can be issued. Unlike Individual Validation, the OV requirements do not vary between Certificate Authorities.
